The fossil boiler ban talk is rumbling across Europe.<\/p>\n
Faced with social, security, and climate challenges, more member states are announcing their ban of fossil boilers, further supported by the REPowerEU proposal to expand the ban EU-wide by 2029.<\/p>\n
The rolling ban will likely have great consequences on the (Russian) fossil imports<\/strong>, for the achievement of the GHG emissions <\/strong>and the renewables targets<\/strong> for buildings that member states have enshrined in their National Energy and Climate Plans<\/strong>. The standing questions for countries are then:<\/p>\n\n- How much of their gas imports would be saved if the ban\u00a0were adopted?<\/em><\/li>\n
- How much of their targets would be achieved with this simple measure? <\/em><\/li>\n
- Could this measure be the game changer for national climate policies and for achieving REPowerEU goals?<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
These questions will be addressed at our workshop, \u201cBanning for good\u201d, where \u00d6ko-Institut<\/strong>\u00a0will presents the results of a research carried out on behalf of the Coolproducts campaign.<\/p>\nThe event will take place\u00a0online<\/strong> on Zoom.<\/p>\nAgenda<\/strong>
