Duncan focuses on policies at the heart of the EU’s industrial transition; the Emissions Trading System (ETS) and Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM). He works across these complementary files, advocating for a coherent policy architecture that will effectively drive decarbonisation of industry in Europe without exporting the continent’s industrial emissions overseas.
Before joining EEB, Duncan has worked on industrial decarbonisation at Brussels-based climate think tank Sandbag and environmental consultancy Ricardo. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool. In his spare time, he enjoys going to concerts, playing the drums, painting and exploring Belgium by bike and Europe by train.
